There are other ways to memorialize your loved one in addition to markers and monuments. For example, we offer seasonal flowers, wreaths and vases. Our special care program establishes a fund where the flowers are placed year after year automatically.

Holiday Wreaths

In preparation for the holiday season, Oak Grove Cemetery will be offering memorial wreaths to decorate the gravesites of your loved ones.  Our wreaths are made with traditional evergreen, and are 26 inches in diameter.  Oak Grove staff decorates and places each wreath.

Wreath orders received by November 6 will be placed on the gravesite starting Monday, November 23 and no later than 4:00 on Friday, December 4.  All holiday decorations will be removed starting April 1, 2011.

Niche and Crypt Flower Program

Oak Grove Cemetery is pleased to announce our 2011 seasonal flower program for the garden mausoleum, columbarium and historic mausoleum.  All bouquets are made of artificial flowers and greens.  We’ll take care of everything, including the placement and removal of the bouquets.

Spring Flower Program

In preparation of Memorial Day, Oak Grove Cemetery will be offering flower vase plantings.  This year’s gravesite spring flower vase will include dracaena, geraniums, petunias and vinca vines, planted in premium soil that includes a slow release fertilizer and water crystals.  The grounds crew at Oak Grove Cemetery takes care of everything.  The flowers receive adequate watering and we carefully remove spent flowers to encourage additional blossoms.  If there’s a problem with insects, we’ll spray and monitor the plants.  At the end of the season, we’ll clean, disinfect and store the vase for you for the next year.

Oak Grove Cemetery offers two different spring flower program options:

Option #1: Annual flowers can be purchased annually, in which case Oak Grove Cemetery sends you an order form every spring.

Option #2: Special care flowers are a one-time purchase and are planted automatically year-after-year.  These special care flower funds are placed in a trust account and only the interest is used to cover the planting expenses each year.

Once you decide, please print out an order form mail it with payment to our office by May 2 to receive flower placement by Memorial Day.  Orders that are received after May 2 will be placed as soon as possible, but are not guaranteed placement by Memorial Day.  Flower vases will be removed the week of September 19.
